I-95 South Reconstruction Completed, New Traffic Pattern in Place for Final Stage of BS1 Contract at Bridge Street

November 16, 2022 – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that southbound Interstate 95 reconstruction between Levick Street and Carver Street (Section BS1) will finish as work shifts to the median for the final stage of reconstruction at the northern end of the Bridge Street Interchange in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

The new traffic pattern will move three lanes of southbound vehicles to the outer lanes and shoulder (see graphic below). Three lanes of northbound I-95 traffic will remain in the current pattern on the rebuilt northbound side. The new traffic pattern for Stage 5 construction is expected to be fully in place by Friday evening, November 18. When Stage 5 construction finishes on the $80.9 million project in spring 2023, mainline reconstruction at the southern end of the Bridge Street Interchange (Section BS2) is expected to begin.
