September 7, 2022 – The reconstruction of Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania is underway this year at every interchange between Interstate 676 in Center City and Cottman Avenue in the Great Northeast (Sector A of the overall initiative).
In 2023, PennDOT’s rebuilding effort will expand further south to the first construction contract in Sector B, at Penn’s Landing, where a section of the highway will be covered during reconstruction (I-95 Section CAP) that is scheduled to begin.
Even as construction expands, I-95 Design Teams continue to prepare the next round of projects for construction under PennDOT’s steadily progressing, multi-year initiative to rebuild the entirety of I-95 in the Keystone State.
Communication with the public and I-95 Stakeholders continues to take place through newsletters, mailers, and regular updates posted on 95revive.com. All of our messaging is tailored to keep the commuting and neighboring public, as well as other I-95 Stakeholders, informed about the progress of design and construction on various project sections, and provide opportunities for feedback as project milestones are reached.
PennDOT and its partners look forward to continuing the rebuilding of I-95 this year and beyond to ensure the long-term viability of this valuable transportation asset.
