Allegheny Avenue and Richmond Street Intersection to Close Oct. 11-14 for Trolley Track Installation in Philadelphia

The intersection of Allegheny Avenue and Richmond Street in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood will be closed from 9:00 PM Friday, October 11, to 5:00 AM Monday, October 14, for installation of SEPTA trolley tracks and reconstruction of the intersection.

Allegheny Avenue motorists east of the intersection will be detoured east on Allegheny Avenue, north on Delaware Avenue, west on Castor Avenue and south on Aramingo Avenue back to Allegheny Avenue.
 
Allegheny Avenue motorists west of the intersection will be detoured north on Aramingo Avenue, east on Castor Avenue, south on Delaware Avenue back to Allegheny Avenue.
 
In addition, Richmond Street will be closed to all traffic between Allegheny Avenue and Westmoreland Street from Tuesday, October 8, to Wednesday, October 30 to allow crews to install the trolley tracks from the intersection to the SEPTA depot on Richmond Street at Westmoreland Street and reconstruct the road.
 
Northbound Richmond Street traffic will be detoured west on Lehigh Avenue, north on Aramingo Avenue to Allegheny Avenue. Richmond Street remains closed to southbound traffic between Westmoreland Street and Lehigh Avenue through late 2019 for reconstruction of Richmond Street.
