Van Kirk Street Closed Nov. 16 for Several Weeks for I-95 Bridge Demolition

November 14, 2020 – Van Kirk Street will be closed for several weeks beginning Monday, November 16, for Interstate 95 bridge demolition, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists will be detoured north on Tacony Street, west on Comly Street, then south on Torresdale Avenue to Van Kirk Street.

The closure is part of PennDOT’s $79 million project to reconstruct I-95 between Carver and Levick streets, and rebuild two bridges carrying the interstate over Comly and Van Kirk streets.
