Southbound Richmond Street will be closed and detoured between Lehigh Avenue and Delaware Avenue for 18 months beginning December 16 for the construction of a new intersection where the new northbound I-95 entrance and exit ramps will be located.
Southbound Richmond Street traffic will be detoured west on Lehigh Avenue and left on
Aramingo Avenue to Delaware Avenue.
Richmond Street’s intersection with the new access ramps will be located just south of its existing intersection with Girard Avenue.
PennDOT’s contractor is currently demolishing and rebuilding the I-95 north viaduct between Palmer and Ann streets. James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor. The contract is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
