Rebuilding and Improving Interstate 95

PennDOT is working on a long-term, multi-phase initiative to rebuild and improve Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania. Five major projects to reconstruct the I-95 between the Interstate 676 and Cottman Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia are in various stages of design or construction, including active projects at the Girard Avenue, Cottman Avenue and Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue interchanges. Construction also is underway on the Adams Avenue Connector.

Q. How long will I-95 remain under construction between Cottman Avenue and Interstate 676 in Philadelphia?

A. To address the deterioration of Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania, PennDOT is working on a long-term program to rebuild the aging and heavily-used interstate. Mainline widening and reconstruction between the Cottman Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges is substantially completed. Reconstruction between Bridge Street and Interstate 676, including interchanges at Bridge Street, Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue, Allegheny Avenue and Girard Avenue, will continue into 2025 and beyond.....More  here.
