I-95 LANE RESTRICTIONS NEXT WEEK IN PHILADELPHIA
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced there will be lane closures affecting Interstate 95 in Philadelphia, for barrier construction. The lane closures will occur during the overnight hours in
the vicinity of Philadelphia International Airport and also at Grant Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow additional time to travel on I-95 because backups may occur. Weather permitting, the work schedule is:
- Tuesday and Wednesday (August 19 and 20) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, the left lane will be closed on northbound I-95 near Bartram Avenue (between exits 12 and 17).
- Tuesday (August 19) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., the left lane will be closed on southbound I-95 at Grant Avenue (between exits 35 and 32).
- Wednesday (August 20) through Friday (August 22) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, the right lane will be closed on southbound I-95 at Grant Avenue (between exits 35 and 32).
The lane closures are part of PennDOT's 10-month, $15.9 million project to rehabilitate and re-anchor protective barriers on 19 bridges along Interstate 95 and Interstate 76 in Philadelphia. The project is expected to be
completed by the end of this year.
